My name’s Jessica and welcome to the Ebony Xscape. I’m a storyteller based out of South Carolina. AKA, I love Afrofuturism (think Black Panther) and whenever I want to tell a story I make a playlist for it, which is pretty often because I do not control the hyperfixation. The hyperfixation controls me.
I basically just want to take my daydreams and fantasies to create an Afrofuturistic self-care journey through the lens of storytelling, whether that be through a YA series or exploring my own hobbies, like falling down when I rollerskate.

The Things I Do
Author
My night school tenacity allowed for me to learn how to craft a story from Tomi Adeyemi's Page Turning Plot course, author of Children of Blood and Bone, and now I have begun my author career with my first book Guardians of Masks and Memory.
Artist
I obtained my Studio art degree from College of Charleston Honors. Now, I use these skills to draw magical black girls, interesting hairstyles, whatever/whoever inspires me at the time, and sea creatures. As I said before, I do not control the hyperfixation. Did I mention that I created the cover art for Guardians of Masks and Memory?
Producer
I create insightful and imaginative videos to take you into my Xscape. I usually create projects on a solo basis, but I love to work with teams, as well! As I make more projects, I seek to learn even more and I’m currently applying the skills I’ve learned from Gil Bettman’s Filmmaking course!
Other Things
My secondary Sparketype is Maven, so of course I'm learning to do more things. This includes employing the recent skills I've acquired from a course by Paul Castro, original screenwriter for August Rush. Did I mention that I trained myself to edit Guardians of Masks and Memory?
